For the past three years, this man has been an addict. He spends his weekdays longing for a fix. He can't tear his mind away from the next moment of bliss. He plots new ways to get more.

His name is John Frazier.

He's a paraglider pilot.

"It's freedom on a level you can't even begin to imagine," Frazier said.

But Frazier's preference is for the non-motorized, simple, foot-launched inflatable wing.

But Frazier's favorite part of paragliding is the loft of the thermal column, a rising column of heated air. Frazier's even had the opportunity to share a column with a massive bald eagle.

He eventually became U.S. Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association (USHPA) certified pilot, and began dedicating every weekend to the sport.

"I've learned how to pay attention to the world around me," Frazier said.

"You really gain an appreciation for weather and wind conditions and I think it really just clues you in to nature in general."
