Continued from yesterday (click here to read the previous post):

...so Mark and I climb into the golf cart and drove half way down the runway to tell Rich what has happened. At this point I’m glad that Rich is a fairly easy going guy, anyone else and I might be afraid of them going postal. You see, when I called Rich earlier in the day he mentioned to me that he also had the opportunity to go sailing in Madison and needed to make sure that I wanted to go flying otherwise he was going to stay home and go sailing.

I had one flight in by this point and so did Rich and there was only about 45 minutes of day light left. I don’t know about Rich but by this point I was getting frustrated - this was a lot of work to enjoy a 2 minute flight. I guess I should be grateful I got to fly, and you know what I am!

Anyways, back to the story!

So, here Mark and I are driving down the runway towards Rich trying hard to avoid Marks dog Jasmine while discussing how we are going to tell Rich that now the battery was dead.

I recorded the entire conversation we had with Rich - the video below should give you a good laugh at the situation (sorry about the lack of stillness in the first minute).

After we tell Rich what has happened we figured out how to get the scooter started so we could each take another flight - watch the video to see Rich finally launch and perform a perfect 10.0 spot landing!

All-in-all it was a good night. We each launched twice, we both landed on our feet near the target, and enjoyed some laughs with Mr. Mark Furst.

After we broke down our gliders and stowed everything back where we found them we went to Mark’s home for food and to watch the videos of our landings.

I really enjoyed flying with Rich! Rich is a class act and I am willing to be his wing man / chaser at anytime!

Thanks Rich for the flights - it was all good :)

Here’s that video:
